Best crypto exchanges in Thailand (2026): SEC licensed only

Crypto exchange rules in Thailand, checked 26 October 2026

Only SEC-licensed platforms appear on this page. Thailand's Securities and Exchange Commission licenses digital asset exchanges, brokers and dealers under the Emergency Decree on Digital Asset Businesses, and unlicensed platforms are blocked. The SEC's digital asset page lists the licensed operators: among the exchanges we cover, Bitkub holds an exchange licence, Bitazza a broker licence, and Upbit Thailand and Gulf Binance (Binance TH) hold local licences through separate Thai companies.

How this page is ordered. The ranking below shows the 4 exchanges we cover that hold a Thai SEC licence for Thailand, ordered by CoinGecko trust rank, the same rank we use on every ranking page. Licence status comes first: an exchange that is not on the register is not listed, whatever its size and whether or not it is a partner. The licensed entity, the regulator and the date for each one are in the licence record lower on this page. If you want a shortlist by fees and features instead, the Exchange Finder applies the same licence rule.

Not listed, and why. On 28 June 2025 the Thai SEC had OKX and Bybit blocked for Thai users. The global binance.com and upbit.com sites do not serve Thailand, so the Binance and Upbit cards on this page lead to our reviews only. Zipmex lost its licence in 2024.

How to check any platform yourself: open the SEC list of licensed digital asset businesses and search for the Thai company name. If it is not there, it may not serve you.

How We Pick These Exchanges

Licence first. This page lists only the 4 exchanges we cover that hold a Thai SEC licence for Thailand, in CoinGecko trust-rank order. An exchange that is not on the register is left out whatever its size, and whether or not it is a partner. The licence record for each one is in the table lower on this page.

The exchanges on this page are chosen and ranked using ExchangeCatalogue’s independent review framework – we look at security, regulation, fees, products, user experience, and overall fit for this specific use case or region.

Some platforms may be our partners, but no exchange can pay to change its score or ranking. Sponsorship can affect visibility (for example, “featured” labels), not how we rate risk or quality.

Frequently Asked Questions

When you compare platforms in Thailand, check if they serve local residents and support your preferred coins and payment methods. Review fee schedules, order types, and limits. Look for clear security practices, strong account controls, and responsive support. Check if the company is registered where required and follows local rules. Read the help center and status page to see how issues are handled. Start with small amounts while you learn the interface. This page is for general information only.

Most platforms ask you to complete identity checks. You may need a government ID, a selfie, and a recent document that shows your name and address. The name on your account should match your bank name. Some platforms also ask about your experience and source of funds. Keep scans clear and up to date. If your details change, update them before you place orders or withdraw. Processing times vary by platform. This information is general and not legal advice.

Fees come in several parts. You may see a trading fee, a spread between buy and sell prices, and costs for deposits or withdrawals. Moving crypto on a network can include a network fee that goes to miners or validators. Funding by card or certain methods can add extra charges. Read the fee page and examples, and watch how fees appear at checkout before you confirm. Compare the full cost, not just one line item.

Common funding options include bank transfers, cards, e-wallets, and crypto deposits. Withdrawals can go back to your bank or to an external wallet you control. Names usually must match your account. Transfer times depend on your bank, the method, and any reviews the platform runs. Start with a small test to confirm details. Double-check wallet addresses and networks before sending crypto. Keep limits, cut-off times, and possible fees in mind when planning.

Prioritize strong account security. Enable two-factor authentication with an app, set a unique password, and add withdrawal address allowlisting if offered. Look for features like device management, session alerts, and the ability to lock withdrawals after changes. Platforms may store most funds offline and publish security information or audits. Beware of phishing: check URLs, bookmarks, and messages. Use hardware keys or security apps when possible. Keep your recovery codes safe and offline.

Crypto rules can affect who can use a platform, which assets are listed, and what checks are required. You should expect identity verification and monitoring for compliance. Rules can change, and platforms may update terms, limits, or features to align with them. Review platform disclosures and official sources before you act. If you need guidance for your situation, seek qualified professional help. This page offers general information, not financial, legal, or investment advice.

Only through Binance TH, run by Gulf Binance Co., Ltd under Thai SEC exchange and broker licences since 2024. The global binance.com does not serve residents of Thailand, so the Binance card on this page leads to our review only.

The SEC has unlicensed platforms blocked, as with OKX and Bybit in June 2025, and the 2025 tax exemption on crypto gains applies only to trades through licensed operators, so an unlicensed platform can also cost you the exemption.

Using a crypto exchange in Thailand: what to know

Paying in Thai baht (THB)

Baht deposits run through Thai bank transfers and PromptPay QR payments on the licensed platforms, after identity verification with a Thai ID or passport. The licensed platforms work in Thai and English. Deposit limits and processing times depend on the method and on your verification level, and the name on your bank account must match the name on your exchange account.

What a Thai SEC licence gives you, and what it does not

A Thai SEC licence means the operator is capitalised, audited and supervised, and that your assets are held under the SEC's custody rules. It does not protect you against price falls, and a licensed operator can still lose its licence, as Zipmex did.

Tax at a glance

Thailand treats crypto gains as assessable income, but gains made through platforms licensed by the Thai SEC are exempt from personal income tax from 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2029 under the 2025 exemption. The authority is the Revenue Department. Rules change often, so confirm the current rate and your reporting duties before you file. This is general information, not tax advice.
